Knowing all the rolloff dumpster sizes available is important, so you don't overpay for what you need. But keep in mind that if you underestimate the size of your dumpster and pile the debris above the top edge, you will also have a Huge Problem. This is because we can't legally haul an overloaded dumpster on public roadways. If there is an excess amount of debris in the container, the driver will leave. We would then have to charge for a second trip charge for us to come back out.
In order to avoid the added cost and to accommodate you better, we have multiple sized dumpsters.
15 yard dumpster -
14 ft. long by 8 ft. wide by 4 ft. high
20 yard dumpster -
22 ft. long by 8 ft. wide by 4 ft. high
30 yard dumpster -
22 ft. long by 8 ft. wide by 6 ft. high
40 yard dumpster -
22 ft. long by 8 ft. wide by 8 ft. high
As long as you have these exterior measurements of a dumpster in feet, you can then calculate the cubic yards of the contents in the dumpster with this formula:
Dumpster sizes are usually provided in feet and measured from the exterior edge of the container. The formula above over estimates cubic yards a bit when you base it on the exterior dimensions of the dumpster. To get an exact interior volume, use interior measurements by subtracting about 6 to 8 inches off each exterior measurement (i.e., an 8 ft. exterior width becomes 7.3 ft. interior width).
Trying to choose from the many dumpster sizes can be difficult because this is not an exact science. Please feel free to call us at (620) 795-2049 to describe your project and debris. Short of coming to your site, we will do our best to suggest the appropriate sized dumpster for your needs.
